Making the Wilderness Wildcats Quilt
Each year the WLP Wildcats make a Queen size quilt to raffle off to the general public as a major fundraising part of the Relay For Life team. (American Cancer Society). They also do secondary quilts for runner ups.
I'm going to be bring you pictures of the squares as they are being made, and how it the whole process is coming along. It's a long and tedious job, but as you can see everyone is having a great time talking, laughing, joking, learning, and enjoying each others company. It's true comradery, of all age groups, so if your looking for ---- new friends, new hobby, and volunteering for the greater good ------ please come up and join in you will be truly welcomed.
We are all VERY EXCITED that teens are now learning how to quilt and becoming involved for the first time in the WLP Wildcat history. They have started by making practice squares that they turn into pillow cases. They are learning every aspect of quilt making -- patterns, cutting, sewing, ironing -- etc.
So if you know any teens that are interested in a learning a new and unique hobby and/or making this a parent/child/teen family event all is possible at the WLP quilt making sessions. We will be working on the quilt for the next several months. So please come and check this out.
