Wilderness Wildcats at Wilderness Lake Preserve
American Cancer Society Relay for Life Team


The Wilderness Wildcats support the American Cancer Society through fund raising and participation in Relay For Life. In 2008 we relayed for life at Connerton on May 30 and 31. WE DID IT! As of May 30, 2008 our team had turned over the $10,160.37 to the American Cancer Society. We are again a GOLD team.

Our 2009 relay will be at Land O Lakes High School on April 24 & 25. Events crank up at 6:00 PM (5:00 PM for cancer survivors) on Friday and end at noon on Saturday. See the Relay For Life at Land O' Lakes High School website for more information including our current fund raising totals. We will be selling hotdogs, chips, soft drinks and water in the evening and muffins, etc. Saturday.

Most Recent Fundraising Event: 10 AM to 5 PM, Saturday 2/14, quilt raffle tickets, etc. sale at Concert 4 A Cure 09.
The tickets were $10 and included general admission plus 5 tickets to the Taste of the Town. For Children there were wristbands for the Play Area with Inflatables priced at $12 for 1 child and $10 for 2 or more. Childrens tickets included Hot dog or hamburger with chips and a drink plus unlimited play all day. Kids 3 and under were free. Click the concert link above for pictures and news articles.

January 17th from 6:00 till 8:30 PM – Bunco for a Cure - Relay for Life sponsored this fun event for adults. A donation of $10 was paid at the time of sign up at the Wilderness Lake Preserve Lodge located at 21320 Wilderness Lake Boulevard. Wilderness Lake Boulevard is the road to the east of Rt. 41 at the light at the entrance to Land O Lakes High School. Land O Lakes High School is on the west side of Rt. 41 (Land O Lakes Boulevard). There were non-monetary prizes for “Bunco” with a value of $20 to $50. There weredoor prizes and a small Chinese Auction for items valued between $5 and $35. Tickets for the Auction were be sold at the door. Cost was be $.50 per ticket, $1.00 for three tickets or $2.00 for seven tickets. $500.50 was raised for the American Cancer Society!
